Dr. Nirusha Pamu

Dr. Nirusha Pamu is a Consultant Neonatologist and Paediatrician with extensive expertise in the care of critically ill neonates and children. She has vast experience in managing preterm and low birth weight infants, including VLBW and ELBW babies, and delivers comprehensive neonatal intensive care guided by evidence-based protocols.

Her clinical interests include advanced ventilator management, birth asphyxia, neonatal respiratory disorders, and pulmonary hypertension. She is experienced in providing therapeutic hypothermia and advanced respiratory support for high-risk newborns. Dr. Nirusha Pamu is proficient in performing essential neonatal procedures such as surfactant administration, UVC/UAC and PICC line placement, and other central line insertions. She is also skilled in the use of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in the NICU for bedside assessment and decision-making.

She strongly believes in family-centred care, with a dedicated focus on breastfeeding support, parental counselling, and long-term follow-up of NICU graduates. In addition to neonatal care, she offers comprehensive paediatric services including immunisation, growth and developmental assessment, and nutritional counselling, ensuring holistic care for newborns and children.
